For many years, Fresh fruit and vegetable juices have been used by the naturopaths to help cleanse and restore the body to good health. There are many reasons to support that Juices really help. Your stomach doesn’t have to work hard to digest juices, thus providing an essential break to the digestive system. Mostly fruits and vegetables are highly rich in vitamins and minerals and
can cater your daily needs of vitamins and minerals intake in just 1-2 servings per day. Citrus fruits like oranges, pineapple etc and green leafy vegetables are powerful anti-oxidants that help cleans the body from harmful toxins and free radicals. Moreover fruits and vegetables provide energy from simple sugars and complex carbohydrates. Thus all these helps nurture, strengthen and restore the body.
The beauty of raw juicing is that it retains all the goodness that nature has endowed it with. Cooking, on the other hand destroys all the enzymes and vitamins, which are important for proper body functions.
Green leafy vegetable contains chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been shown to have antiseptic properties and can build red blood cells. It is regarded as an excellent body cleanser and tonic.
Some fruits like apples, grapefruits, oranges contain pectin, a form of fiber. Once inside the stomach it forms a gel and speeds up digestion by stimulating peristaltic waves. This pectin is also important as they have ability to absorb and eliminate toxins.
Our bodies should be more alkaline than acid. The average modern diet is too much fat, sugar and protein inclined. The acidity is linked with weakening of the immune system, the overgrowth of Candida albicans and fatigue. Vegetable and fruits juices are alkaline- forming and help the acid/ alkaline status of our body, by neutralizing acidity.
There are few things that we should keep in mind while juicing vegetables and fruits.
Firstly don’t keep the juice for more then 5-10 minutes as it destroys all the enzymes in it.
Secondly as few fruits like mango are too much sweet and thus have high sugar content thus should be avoided in large quantities and for daily use especially for diabetic patients. The best cleansing fruit juices are of Apples, Grapes, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Papaya, Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Strawberry, Watermelon and the best vegetable juices for cleansing are Celery, Carrot, Beetroot, Spinach, Watercress and Cucumber.
Take these organic and fresh juices daily for a strong and healthy body.
